AC World Series

Spent some time watching the Americas Cup World Series live webcast today. Having grown up racing sailboats I have always been a fan of Off Shore racing and the Americas Cup.

the new format for the Americas cup is actually quite interesting. If you have not been following they are currently racing AC45's which are 45' multihulls in a series of races aquiring points through the season. Next year they will move up to AC72's which are 72 foot boots in preperation for the Americas Cup race. The world Series format where they collect points and have a series coupled with some decent coverage on the water should breath some new life into the AC and hopefully sailboat racing in general

Today was the final Match race where Oracel 4 (USA) Beat ETZ (Team new Zealand) but there is a fleet race tomorrow with all the countries involved.
