Planning ahead for Christmas gifts.

My wife recently ask me to make out a Christmas list as she wanted to plan ahead early this year and due to the current state of the economy she request that I only list three or four things.

Here is what came to my mind:

A country home patterend after the Issac Norris home located near Philadelphia. It would look very good sitting atop the mountain behind my current house.

A Beechcraft King Air C90GTx Twin Engine airplane. I am afraid of flying and this is one of the safest planes made so I think it is an excellent choice.

A Purdy 12 gauge shotgun, sidelocks, 26 inch barrels, choked improved cylinder and improved modified, double triggers, rust blue finnish, with crown engraving on the receiver and a straight stock of good French walnut fitted personnaly to me.

A Chinese Junk with an Allison aircraft engine, 1500 HP, tucked away in the hull along side the Befors cannon. (For Pirates you know)

That should do it.

If I can't get that, I guess I will settle for a pair of bib overalls, a bottle of Knob Creek and some Coates shaving cream.

Heck, a guy can dream can't he.

I have a permanent list running, 365 days a year. It's called my "Public Wish List" at Lee Valley tools, and all you have to do is go to Lee Valley and search for my name....then you can see what I desire.

Of course there are the staples which have not been purchased, such as a vintage Steinway concert grande....the German ones....not the newer American made models.

And a '67 GT 500.

I understand. I am unfortunately one of those with Champange appetite with beer income.

I'm happy if I wake up and everything is still working more or less as it should be.

I would think you should list as many things as possible.
that way, she can pick the one which is available, or on sale, etc.

I agree with Bruno... by tossing everything I could think of at "wish lists" and "pre-christmas lists" is that I got most of my toys, although not necesarily on a special date.

To date, that's how I got:

A Martin guitar
motorbike
a Mastro Livi
Illionois strop
wood planes
cement mixer
shed
edger
compressor
Norton hones
cameras (several 35mm and one 6x6) and a pelthora of lenses and filters and flashes and... well, you get the idea.
Ph meter (when I was keeping a reef tank)
fountain pen
dozens of zippos
darkroom equipment and chemicals
anvil

... and I could go on for hours, which is more or less what I invested in making the list in the first place :)

The list:

Make it long. Make it wide. Make it deep.

incidentally, my twin engine bonanza is still on the list, as is the ferrari.

as a former airport employee and listening to the Pilots, ask for a Cirrus SR22 turbo, more comfortable, faster, and as one old boy put it "the damn thing flies itself, hell I took a nap on the way here"
