I much prefer the Talisker 10 year old to the Lagavulan 16 year old. Both are better than the Glenlivet 12 year old, though.
The Laphroig 10 year old is hard to place. It's so peaty that I can't really compare it to the others. It's a totally different flavor profile. I like it well enough, though.
I'll say this, it's great having a sweetheart who collects good single malts.
Love the taliskers also really like Oban 10. I can't bash the Glennlivet it is the single malt that got me drinking them.

For christmas a friend of mine just got me some Macallan 18 that I have to say I really enjoy the 18. Until last night (when he gave me the 18) the only Mac I have had is the 12, and I really like it. Just had a glass a few min ago :D

I'm in the middle of a Sheep Dip Old Hebridean that was gifted to me. It's an Islay blend, but really on the mild side. Very nice stuff, though the name is a bit off putting.
I'll confess to being a fan of Walker Black Label. Maybe because it was my first scotch. Maybe because it was the first non beer or wine I'd had all summer when I first tried it.
Whatever it is, it keeps me coming back.
I live in Whisky Country (Moray, Scotland). We've got most of the Speyside malts here, I drive past five different distilleries on my morning commute!
If you like the Talisker/Oban/Lagavulin may I suggest trying Highland Park? It's quite peaty but not as full as the Laphroaig. Also if you want something sharper like the Speyside malts but like the fatter flavour of the island malts I recommend Aberlour.
