Good to see another Ironworker on here. I've been with local 55 for 15 years. Try the Redwing model 678. It has the round toe and black wedge sole. No stitches to blow out, and that sole is indestructible.

I really prefer the Thorogoods but they have really soft soles so they wear quite fast. But they have great grip on the iron especially on those cold days.

Red Wing is a local company for me. I have known many that have made a good living from them or their supporting businesses. And a bunch that have lost their jobs with the transfer of their plants. Worx is their foreign made label. I will not buy them.

If you are a Union worker they have a great Union discount! I am an Operating Engineer with local 70. :D

I accidentally bought a pair of Red Wings that had made in USA on the box but the tongue had made in China on it. I got in touch with them and they sent me a domestic pair free of charge and let me keep the Chinese pair (I gave them away).
