I've owned half a dozen glocks and I'm down to one. I have no issue with Glocks, in fact I quite love them, but the M&P is superior in just about every way. It is basically what the Gen4 Glocks should have been. I still carry my Glock 23 all the time, but I absolutely love the M&P's. I would go so far to say that my full size M&P40 is my favorite handgun that I have owned, which says a lot considering it is a third the price of some handguns I have owned.
I like Glocks in theory but I'm part of the "I can't deal with the grip angle of the Glock". I know that's a hot issue but it's a real noticeable difference for me.
I have the HK .40 compact and love that thing. I was part of a highway patrol sponsored competition one day and got 2nd in the accuracy round against 1911 race guns! That is in no way touting my shooting skills, which by the way are not that good, but rather what those HKs can do! I know favorite guns are like favorite colors, but just thought I'd put my +1 for HK.
I love HK's! They are great. Problem is the limited availability of parts and accessories and the extremely inflated price of said parts and accessories when you come across them. I owned a USP at one point and really liked it, but I let it go. I still think the M&P feels better in the hand and points more naturally, but that is personal preference. I can't knock HK
Costabro It all come down to what feels the best for you. Find a range where you can try both of them side by side, and choose the one that you like the best.
I've tried the M&P, and I carried a Glock 20 for a year (no, not in Norway) and I still prefer my 1911s.

"I love you gun, you smell like my human... kordite!"
The Glock is about as perfect a CCW gun as they get and this comes from a 1911 guy. Fr CCW I'd recommend just polishing the internals and leave it stock. While polishing won't give you a true 3.5 trigger it will improve it a lot. The other way to go is run 5K rounds through it and it will polish itself.
Sounds like you'd really benefit from the Glock DVD. I needed to learn the Glock be cause I was planning to shoot IPSC with a G35. The DVD is awesome. I use to do armory work in the Marines on 1911's and hated the Glock for years. It was the old argument steel vs plastic. You made a great choice on the Glock it's a very dependable system. They are my go to CCW guns.
It's really a simple platform to work on with minimal internal parts get the DVD. The stock trigger is fine but it can be smoothed up too feel much better.
How are you guys posting pics? Every time I try it gives me an error, both with direct upload and URL
I've got a few problems with the Glock...
First; the safety on the trigger has, at a very bad moment, got stuck on my gloves.
Second; If held loosely it won't feed as it should, "held loosely" as in your hurt, very shaken up or using you weak hand, all situations where I really want my backup not to fail me!
It might apply to other light framed guns as well, but I've only had malfunctions like that in the Glocks.
Edit; yeah, and the first batch of clips jammed when fully loaded, they swelled up, but that's old news!
