Looking for a mentor
I unfortunately have the razor making bug real bad I am wondering if someone would be willing to teach me how to grind razors.I already have 2- 2 x 72 belt grinders and have had some limited success but I think it is all by luck. I live in Connecticut and am willing to travel anywhere. It's just one of those gotta do things I have on my list.
Thanks in advance
Pat

I can't give you any other advice than practice makes perfect. Initially you will succeed because of luck, and fail many times. Eventually you will succeed through skill.

I'm just at what I would call a skilled apprentice & in the south central U.S., I'm sure someone will chime in a bit closer. Time with a pro does help majorly, a day with member Spazola was a true treat for me. I too would like to spend more time with some of the pro's & it does help a LOT...but it still takes a lot of time at the wheels like Bruno mentioned. Easy part is before heat treatment making Razor Shaped Objects, the true test is after heat treatment and finish work.
