Some very impressive work there. Well done.
Look good Substance, nice smile to them.
I want the one on the far right in the last picture! I want a forge so bad, I'm just not in the right time of my life to make it possible just yet. One day...
Love the footwear Dion. Never mind, it's bloody hot at Gladstone, especially when there's a forge going full blast:D
Thanks lads
Safety first mate Ear plugs and glasses all the way just gotta watch the odd bit of hot scale LOL
Don't forget pivot pin hole! I usually drill them before I even start any rough hollowing, right after profiling. Looks good. I'm not sure if 1075 has the carbon to hold up, but I'm sure the pro's will chime in. YOu might have to be careful on the temper.
Nice work and thanks for sharing!
Holes will be drilled as required
2 may stay as kamisori's yet & once the tangs are cleaned up and straightened out a bit I drill them
But I also have a tungsten drill that is meant to be able to drill hardened steel if I change my mind post HT
The 1075 should hold up I can get my forge and quenching oil to hold within +/-10 degrees C and have clay tempered the 1075 for a razor before and maintained a 60+Rockwell hardness based on using my hardness files
But only time will tell for sure
By the time I finished forging I was sweating bullets, it was 33 plus degrees C and humid as while I was forging,
the young lad was upstairs and spun out at the kitchen floor being so hot LOL
my forge is outside but Under the overhang which is the kitchen extension, never noticed it downstairs but the forge was going for about 3 hours in the middle of the day heating the wood floor above.
Some more progress

These 3 are now ready for Heat treat along with the top blade
The small knife is from some scrap O1 to use as a little paring knife or leather knife it is rather thin and flexable
