Got side tracked yesterday. I forged both of the razors using channel locks, they are less than ideal, too short and bent. Picked up some 5/8” round bar and watched a couple videos then went about making the ugliest but still functional flat jaw tongs. Sized for 1/4” stock.

Well now to honing, as everything is pinned up. I went to try and set a bevel on the bigger blade and have a thin spot. I must have dipped the blade off the side of the grinder towards the end of the finishing belts. I’ve been trying to break my habit of how I take the razor away from the contact wheel. It doesn’t matter when your hogging off material but when you get down to those last few thousandths, any mistake towards the edge is catastrophic. Hopefully I can fix it, otherwise I’ll have the opportunity to do some destructive testing and see what the grain structure looks like. The thumb notch razor took a beautiful edge. Hopefully that one is good.
