I have it ground out now. That was a learning experience! Once I figured it out it wasn't too horrible. I think I kept it cool enough since I did not burn myself.
As far as heat treating goes, can anyone who does heat treating do it or should I find someone who has experience with knives and or razors? Eventually I will do it on my own but am not that adventerous yet.

Looking good so far. I'm a little way behind you (still building the grinder) but I should be postin my first attempt at the end of June.
Looking great..!
Keeping an eye on this as it progresses...
Work is going to be almost nonexistent on this for a bit. I just bought my first shave den and got a house with it. Almost done scrubbing everything and then the fun part of moving in and setting up the nursery begins!
Congrats! Nice project. I'm almost at the same point on my first try from O1 bar stock. Mine is a similar shape except an Irish (slightly rounded) point, and the other side of the cutaway made a neat cleaver-looking blank. I am working on both. My hollowing isn't as pretty, but I still have more work to do. I'm trying to decide how far to go before heat treating, and how to tackle that beast. Have been thinking bbq + pencil torch but I guess I could send them out to someone. Fun project! And nice lines!
