I have been reading "Doctor Sleep" and in it he describes Pawn Shops with windows full of a nice array of Straight Razors and later in the book uses She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed. He often leaves clues/nuggets crossing characters and locations from previous books so was wondering if this were a nod to Straight Razor Shaving or just a coincidence?

It is possible, but the reference is more likely literary:
She: A History of Adventure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, or more tangentially;

Yes it is a very early turn of phrase from literature. DrDalton hit on the correct answer in his first link as far as 'She who must be obeyed' goes, but just what that has to do with cut-throat shaving, apart from passing possible purchases by the missus first, I just don't know.

Hahaha...I just got that book for my Kobo! Stephen King and straight razors....the planets are aligning for me!!
Yeah, I wondered if it were my own experience/perspective showing through and just picking out SR details... Kinda like you never remember seeing a particular kind of vehicle until you buy one and suddenly they are 'everywhere'.
I had never seen the SWMBO reference until I lurked here a couple years back but the above links make way more sense contextually with him being an Author.
But, it would be cool if he did use a SR... He did use a SR in one of his Bachman books as a weapon used by an evil character... I looked around online a bit but did not find any specific personal references but it woild be a cool back-story to hear if perhaps he had a family member thst used a SR or how he was otherwise inclined to write about them in his stories.
BTW, the book is awesome... Up til midnight and crushed half the book in one day... Reminds me of when I was 12 readng his books with a flashlight under the covers! :-)
