I get to see my dad tomorrow (he lives on the other side of Australia). I am going to see if he will get into SR shaving by tugging some nostalgia strings for him. I am going to take my shave gear down and show him the things I have learnt here. I have a feeling he will be very interested and will take up wet shaving again at the very least if not straight shaving altogether.
I will let you know how it goes!

Good luck. It seems to me that there is a father son pair on this forum that the son got the father into straight shaving. It is good to have things to share with your parents or children depending on your perspective.

I tried to get my father to use a DE but even that was a waste of time. He faints at the sight of blood. :roflmao
You could be referring to me. I got my son all the starting gear a few Christmases ago, and quickly got far more into it than he did!Quote:

I tried getting my Father interested in using real shaving soap/cream and a brush. Ended up compromising with Proraso in a can.:gaah:
