I go to Savilles in Sheffield occasionally and I must say I don't see the point of banning women, some of the staff are young lasses who do great work, including straight shave with shavette. I admit if I wanted to read a book or something while waiting for a girlfriend would get bit peeved if I was asked to leave. I find a good barbers to be a mans version of getting pampered. Hot towels, scented shaving soap etc. Doesn't degrade the atmosphere to have a couple of lasses waiting for their lads; for me anyway. But then many men feel they need to keep their manly lumberjack mystique, and may feel that if their women see them enjoying a pampering they might lose it. Think banning them may be going too far. All to their own anyway, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
But then where will the barberettes ply their trade?
Can I take this to the next level gents? I was at a nightclub on Friday and it was getting a bit late. The usual queue to the women’s toilets was there and as a bloke I just walked into the gents thinking how lucky I am to be of the male gender. There was a call from the women’s queue "any cubicles empty"? The shout went round to cover up, we all just faced the other way and she went into the cubicle. We repeated the process when she told us she was finished. There was a bit of jeering, some of the other desperate girls got the idea and so it started. In my opinion this is the downfall of the last truly male bastion in our society. I think that there are some things the male psyche just does not care about and women do, vive la différence.
