What makes a good razor ?

In descending order (for me at least).

Good weight and balance.
Handling
Ease of honing
Look
Lasting edge
Price

Some may feel that lasting edge should come before look, and I see the point. But I really enjoy Honing, so if I can get a good two weeks out of edge with regular shaving, then that is good enough for me. Just my humble opinion.

Zeepk, shmeekp I use it to pick my teeth and then get a BBS shave with only cold water and one pass.

If you've read any of my posts I'm sure you know that i could (and often do) go on for days. I'm gonna keep it simple.


I'm lazy. 1) Ease of honing.

I'm cheap 2) Price

I got fat fingers 3) A long enough tang (right word?) so my finger doesn't slip off.

I'm picky 4) Looks = big is beautiful



things like hardest steel- PITA to hone
collectors value - whatever
Lou point - don't need it, I have a wife that tries to take my head off already
singing razor- buy a damn parakeet
super-mega-ultra hollow - one word, flex. flex= pressure. pressure= the worst cut I've ever had. Ask my cheek, right ->:hmmm:
