Hi. I have a vintage straight razor that I cannot find any information about. It was made by E.H. Eugen Muller, Solingen-Wald and has the name Aeka. Does anyone have any information about this razor, or can you direct me to where I can find information? I have attached photos. Thanks!

Welcome to SRP! You have come to the right place for straight razor and straight razor shaving info. We love pics on this sight and could probably tell you a little more if you added more pics such as both sides of the blade and tang.
German made razors with the word 'Solingen' indicates its a good quality straight razor much like good quality British razors will have 'Sheffield' stamped on them. Just clean her up, get it honed by a pro and you are in business.....Happy Shaving!
Thanks to WW243 and DoughBoy68. I was not able to find any information on the link that WW243 gave me nor was there anything on the pdf file. I am interested in historical information so I can date the razor. Also, does anyone know what the value of this razor might be. More pix attached. Thanks again.

If it just says "Solingen" without the "Germany" add on, it is post 1891. Value? What you paid for it. I have several 100+ years old razors that I paid less than $20.00.
Thanks ThorandOdin. I have looked everywhere I can think of to find some background information on this razor but I have struck out. Is there anyone out there that has heard of C.H Eugen Muller or E. H. Eugen Muller? I apparently need lots of help!!!
There are many, many razors that were simply contracted an mass and sold by many firms. Therefore, the stamp might very well not be a maker but just a re-seller. As for value, we can't really discuss that here but it is not a gold mine if that's what you are hoping for!
I would recommend giving a +1 on doughboy and hone it up for use!

There were probably hundreds of cutlery makers in Solingen and many were really small operations with 1 or 2 guys with much of the work outsourced to other specialty shops.
We have a few guys who are real detectives. Eventually one will come along.
