Just a friendly caution to those coming from out of state:
Article 24, Section 24-1 (a) (2) of the Illinois Criminal Code says that an individual commits the crime of unlawful use of weapons (UUW) when he:
"Carries or possesses with intent to use the same
unlawfully against another, a dagger, dirk, billy, dangerous knife, razor, stiletto, broken bottle or other piece of glass, stun gun or taser or any other dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument of like character;"
Now I'm sure that no one planning to exhibit razors etc is planning to use them unlawfully, but Chicago is notorious for taking the whole weapons thing way to seriously so just watch out.
Sounds like San Francisco, buggers are insane there...
Remember the 'burbs. Chicago's burbs have nice accomodations, and the Metra (commuter train) goes right to Downtown. I'll be staying with the future in-laws in the burbs and either driving in or taking the Metra.
I would like video footage of the events on YouTube or sth like that.
If I happen to be in the area that week can I sign up at the last minute or is this something that needs advanced reservations?
I'm so happy that it's in Chicago. I'm only 30 miles east, so I'll be there. By the way, for some of you that are planning on driving, there are some cheap hotels in the Chesterton/Portage Indiana area. Let me know if you guys have any questions about Northwest Indiana.
