Archives and searching

I'm having trouble searching the site and finding the archives. Is there a FAQ with some directions?

I was going to post a new thread in newbies about this very thing.

What i didnt notice at first was that the forum is set to display only messages from the last month, by default... which is appropriate.

If you jump down the bottom of the page you can choose to display messages from longer periods ago... like 2months, a year or the beginning.

I did this in the restore section and it jumped from 3 pages to 35 pages... was like xmas had come mid year... hundreds of threads with hundreds of answers to my simple-minded questions.

The search feature of great... but you really have to hit the right keywords to bring up the post which might be of interest. I found it worth going through 35 pages of threads... it was all material I was intensely interested in!
