Encounters

Hi everybody,

I just had yesterday an encounter or local convention in Belgium, with a dozen of SR aficionados. We showed (some of) our razors, stropes and paddles, honing stones - country of the coticule - and let men discover the scents of many soaps and shaving creams. We gave lesson or rather demo of honing, or change of scales. It was in a nice restaurant, so it ended in a good dinner. It happens sometimes between members of the french forum "Le Coupe-chou Club". The next is on the shore of the Méditerranée, and a two day one in Normandy for the 10th anniversary of the forum.

My question: does such kind of meeting also happen on your side of the Atlantic?

absolutely! had the first meet up at SRD last fall, got personal honing lessons from Lynn (the honemeister). Maggard razors has had one the last 4 years with a small group of SR guys in attendance. many more around the country too. good to here you have them as well where you are!

Yes, there has been those types of meetings. For those members lucky enough to get to them there is a wealth of knowledge to gained there from one on one lessons on various aspects relating to straight razors. That upcoming meet on your side of the pond on the shores of the Med Sea really sounds inviting.

You are welcome. Some of the info available on this site can be a little obscure to find. Hope you make that Med Meet, I am a little jealous. ;)

There are probably a handful of us that would travel that far for a meet. Please keep us posted.
