    Default Gillette PR

Just tonight I came across a rather odd page on Gillette's web site. I was actually after information about Hamburg Ring razors, and had not made any reference to Gillette whatsoever in my search. The page was entitled 'Is a straight razor right for you?' And went on to list all the advances Gillette had pioneered over the years, and then made a comprehensive comparison between straight razors and their new Fusion range. The point being made was that straight razors are laborious and inefficient, and one would be almost foolish to eschew the advantages of Gillette's investment in technology in favour of a straight. I have started this thread only because I find it so interesting that Gillette should feel the need to do this, surely they cannot imagine the traditional shaving revival that the last decade has provided poses any real problem to their profits?

    They're just covering their bases.

You never know when some relatively minor annoyance can mushroom to challenge your existence.
They have a large group of followers so if they put out a warning most will heed it. (they hope).

pretty much true in some aspects (though i'm not sure about the stainless blade being less irritating) but i noticed they didn't mention anything about cost. Those things they think as negative are the positives for me.

Really! I mean...Who has fun buying and shaving with the latest Gillette?

Seems a chore and a waste of money?

They list having to have a brush, strip, and soap like they are negative things.

The fact that straights are being attacked only means that they turned into a real risk/threat.
    Keep it up
