SRP ltd. edition razor

I have about 10 TIs so I can compare my 2 SRP razors with them. I find the SRP is a smaller blank than the other 6/8s TIs and lighter too. I also find the SRPs don't seem to last between honings as long as my other TIs whether new razors or some of the other older blanks. Other than that they are typical TIs which is to say they are really great shavers.

Mine was a great shaver, better than say an Art Deco scales LE... However, both of these are gone.

THe SRP LE is light, but very nimble. I loved how it shaved: 10+/10 shaver, no doubt about it. Gotta buy a new one when I get extra funds...

Going slightly astray from this thread, but wanted to ask - how can I find out the age of my older razors? For example, how can I find out when Pumas were being made or what age my Robeson is from, etc. Is there some site with this information?

There are a couple books that have some info, I get from the library. Also a few members have some booklets from various makers that can help narrow the age a bit. I generally find when the company that made the razor was in buisness, than bounce around on the search engines looking for that razor/company. Generally I just avg the the years and production and get a general age.

Yup, I just made a list of US razors out of that one, just removed all the others :p

This gives you a base to work with, some of the collecting books give additional info as well.

Shame that there is nothing on there about Puma's though :(

I've enjoyed my SRP LE razor but was wondering if it would be worth it to buy another TI for comparison or just to have more razors. It looks like the forum razors are sheffeld silver steel like most of TIs blades. Is it the metal or the blade geometry that is different?

It is indeed a great razor and gives a perfectly smooth shave. Only problem that I find with it, is that it needs a touch up on the paddled strop, 8K hone or cotticule much sooner than any other razor I own.

Still, they're all made from good quality, hard Sheffield steel.
