I order 2 but i dont remember how much each and how much for shipping.
...help...:(
RPR.
I think the idea is great but I think it is missing something. I think it can be improved just a bit, saying Straight Razor Place is good, but you don't have to go overboard and put on it SRP too. How about killing two birds with one stone, you could spell out "straightrazorplace.com" and maybe add "the original and oldest Internet straight razor forum". Or just the web address, either way people then will know it is a web site and we get free advertisement and everyone will be happy. Just a thought, love the idea, and the design, but I just think it can be improved for the better, I voted for 2 decals, God bless from razorjoe.:tu
Tony I just sent $5.00 via PayPal for 3 decals should be enough for a stamp and PayPal fees plus some for you or SRP. Thanks for doing this you are kind.
i would love to get 3.
paypal sent.
By the way, i really wanna thank you for your effort of organazing all this.
I really apreciate you taking the time to send out the stuff.
Thanks man.:tu
:roflmao This is a scream! The design was nailed down in this thread like 200 posts back. I think freebird deserves nothing more than gratitude for doing the legwork on what turned out to be a logistical cluster-F. Razerjoe, If you don't like the design, why are you ordering stickers? :roflmao
Thanks for all the kudos guys, I appreciate it.
Razorjoe, I think somewhere back in the thread (I'm too lazy to search atm), I mentioned that they would have the web address near the bottom of the decal. I'm not sure if it would cost us more to add the "Worlds Oldest Straight Razor Forum" or not. I can check, if that's what everyone wants. Do you want me to add your name to the order list?
Today is officially the last day for ordering.
sent 5 dollars today For 3 stickers
Freebird,
I e-mailed and PMed you yesterday. If it's not too late, then I'd like to order two decals. Thanks!
Cheers,
Constantine
not too late at all Constatine!
Tony
Money sent for four stickers. Included is a little extra for shipping and spear-heading this operation.
yes we are! Thanks again fellow's, this has gone really smoothly. Will request a "proof" before they go into production and will scan and post it here, when I receive it.
Tony
Payment sent for two stickers. Thanks.
John
I am in for 2 decals, I sent $3.50.
If the price drops, keep the change!:)
I'd like 2 decals when the next order comes thru... just pm me, freebird. I like what you're doing here. I'll subscribe to this thread, but I have a throw away email listed, so I don't know if I'll catch the notifications. Probably shouldn't have used the email I liked for all of those "political pictorial" sites when I was a teenager...
Payment sent for 2 stickers ($3.50). Thanks!
Placed the order today, asked for a proof before production. They said to allow 14 working days (if I remember correctly) so we should see a proof in about a week and a half or two weeks.
Money has been coming in hot and heavy, still a few on the list who haven't sent their money in for their order, but there is still time to do so.
payment sent for 8 decals
Just got off the phone with the manufacturer and they cannot match the type on the srp logo, they are going to send 2 proofs so we can choose the font.
Now for the bad news. The decals may be a little more expensive than originally priced. They also needed a different file type, this one was a jpg, and they would like to have had a vector so they could edit it easily. Since we didn't have the vector, there may be an art charge added, also they are talking about the possibility of printing it in a 4 color process, which, while it is a better quality-more realistic looking, is a more expensive process.
I will keep you informed as to what goes on, at the moment all we can do is await the proofs and see what happens.
Tony
I'm not that worried about price, it's not like they were 10 bucks a pop to start with... Let me know and I'll paypal you another 2 or 3 bucks for my order of two
Hi Tony, looking forward to the decal and Im sure it will be excellent regardless of the re-arrangement, like the fellas before me have already said just let me know what the extra cost is and I will paypal you the difference.....:tu
regards,simon
I received the sample SRP decal, and to be honest I was less than pleased. Instead of gold,
it was yellow, not even a solid yellow. So I called the home office in MA and talked to the customer rep. I was told that they are printing it digitally, and that gold has always given them a problem. He is going to talk to the Art Director and see what can be done. He did say that a tan or khaki color would be closer to the gold color than what was presented to us. I've worked with the Customer Rep, know him quite well, so I'm positive that he is being upfront with us on this.
As far as this being a full time job, don't worry about it, being "retired" at an early age, I have nothing but time.
just let me know how much more i will owe. cant wait to see it
Thanks for the update. I will also be glad to pay the difference. Just let us know...
I have no problems with paying a little more for the decals. Just let me know how much and I'll paypal it to you.
BTW, Freebird, thanks for all of the effort you are putting into this project. We all really appreciate it.
any updates on the decals?
There sure is. Just this afternoon, I received the origional vectors from DWessell, who had obtained them for me from another member. I have sent those to the printing company and should hear from them tomorrow.
The problems we were dealing with without the vectors was poor image quality and poor color quality as well. I have received two proofs from the printer and neither one was to my satisfaction. (I highly doubt anyone else would've been satisfied either). The colors on the proofs were poor, instead of the gold being a true gold, it looked like a tan and yellow tartan (if you can imagine).
I believe now that the vectors have been sent they should be able to provide a better quality decal than what we were looking at before. I know that when I worked for them, this would not have even come close to the quality decals that we printed. However, in all fairness, they are dealing with the epa and other regulations that prohibit them from printing the way it was in the past.
Hi.
I can't find the image of the sticker that was once posted on this thread.
Can you put it back up so we can at least look at it and droll while waiting fir it to be made and deliver.
I have tree on order and can't wait to get them.
Thanks.
:tu
Sure, am hoping to get a couple of proof up this weekend, if they pass the color test. I've rejected 2 proofs due to the colors not being right.....mottled, or just plain looking like a tan and yellow tartan.
Here's the image we're shooting for:

Do we need to send any $ to make up a difference in coI got a little lost in this.
:)
Tomst?
good news, we finally have a proof tha tlooks good. Bad news, as they are printed face down (for placement inside your car window rather than on the outside) I had to put a clear overlay on them to scan them. In placeing the overlay on the best one, it wrinkled. Plus the clear overlay doesn't let the true colors scan as they should. I will post the two, I played with brightness and contrast in paintshop to get them close. The first one is called golden yellow - the closest they can get to gold printing them digitally. The second sample is cmyk and is so far off I wouldn't consider it. The dots in the images won't show in as great a detail as they do in the scanned images. The scanning process brought them out more. Plus these are a little larger than the run size of 3x5 inches.
