BBC Television's (not a movie, I know) "Luther" has a psycho-killer-all-around-bad-guy in episode 7 (I think) who threatens a woman with a straight razor in the opening scene.
I'm not certain how much I like this series, though.
Though not a movie, in season 1 of "How I Met Your Mother" Barney is getting a shave with a straight razor. The funny thing about the scene is the barber's technique is so ridiculous. The spine on the razor is facing down on the WTG pass. Might have to try it out.:rofl2:
Oh, dear Lord.... History has a show called "epic history of everyday things". They just showed a short segment on razors. The "barber" using a barber hone pre shave just scared the crap out of me. Held it like he was buttering toast. And at a 45 degree angle, then he flipped it on the blade.
I really hope it was a zeepk.
The Color Purple.
Danny Glover orders Woopie Goldberg to shave him all during the movie. She almost kills him with it when she is interrupted.
Dark Passage with Humphrey Bogart. Bogie is a fugitive getting plastic surgery and when Houseley Stevenson approaches him with a straight razor Bogie says, "Hey! You aren't goingto start in on me with that!". Stevenson says, "No. First I'm going to shave you clean and close.". Bogie says,"I guess I'm a coward.". Stevenson says,"Were all cowards. There's no such thing as courage. That's why we live so long.". We don't get to see the shave though.
Just saw Key Largo on TCM, and Edward G. Robinson was shaved with a legitimate straight razor. That guy had a lot of guts, spitting out dialogue with his chin bouncing back and forth while his chin was being shaved. Before the guy shaving him was done he said, "That's enough!"
Not sure if someone has mentioned this but, although not a movie, Alcatraz the TV has had at least 3 episodes with the barber using a straight.
Charlie Alnut (Bogart) in The African Queen
Robert Ryan in Crossfire.
