Although the scene was photographed in such a way that it appears that it's the woman's eye that's being cut, it was in fact a sheep's eyeball.

I happened to catch "The Last Sunset" last weekend. I had never heard of it.
There was a scene where Kirk Douglas whipped through a straight razor shave. You had to look close, but he had the blade angled backwards and was just wiping the lather off.
Dont know if anybody has posted this yet, but most of us will remember this most wondrous moment in viewable shaving history!

I hear there is a scene in the new Bond movie,'Skyfall'...I read a blurb that the actress had to learn to shave a balloon..
I just saw the film and the straight razor scene was pretty good. They spent a good few mins on it and even spoke about it too.
There was a scene in "In Harm's Way" 1965 where John Wayne is seen with a straight in his hand while at a friends home.
I looked but didn't find it earlier in the thread! I guess that really dated me!

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this one, but I was watching the Robert Rodriguez film, Desperado and there is a very short scene of Antonio Banderas use a straight razor before the first major bar scene "fire fight." It shows him briefly using a straight. He is performing a "fool's pass" on his upper lip. On a lighter note, I was watching King of the Hill on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim last night and there was a scene featuring Peggy Hill shaving Hank's head with a straight razor (because he had lice). Good stuff!
New Bond film ... Skyfall ... Bond starts to shave with a straight razor, and then his girlfriend finishes the job while they flirt ... kind of an erotic scene and takes a minute or two.
watched star trek inserection last night, there is a scene where counselor troi is shaving cmdr rulers beard and mustache off with a straight razor
Bad guy wielding a straight razor in the new movie "Gangster Squad".
W.C. Fields has to get creative to shave while his wife and daughter interrupt his routine.

In the movie The Great Raid (2005) about the liberation of POWs on Bataan, there is a straight razor scene.
Seven.Psychopaths.2012 got a scene with straight razors...
Don't be Afraid of the Dark was a recent horor/suspense film where little "tooth fairy" creatures relieve a man of his straight and proceed to attack a few people with it. It actually wasn't a bad movie either.
I don't _think_ this one has come up yet: In Battlestar Galactica, Gaius Baltar shaves with a straight (season four, one of the final eps). It's awful: he scrapes away with the blade at a 90-degree angle, flip-flip-flip at random spots on his lathered face.
King of Kings (1961), an Easter film that was on TCM today, had a "2000 year old shave" scene. The barber applied a clear lubricant to the face and started to shave with a knife big enough to carve a turkey. But the shavee terminated the shave before it started. Couldn't blame the actor for not going through with that!
In one of the, "Kill Bill" movies, Uma Thurman's character takes a straight razor from her boot to cut the ropes that are binding her hands when trapped in a coffin buried alive...
Tonight's episode of Under The Dome features Dwight Yoakam shaving Dean Norris with a straight razor. It made me want to cringe because he was holding the razor at a 90 degree angle to his face; just dragging the edge across his face.
Almost every movie or tv program showing a straight razor being used, shows the guy or gal using the 90 degree angle. For all the work they do on researching things, you'd think they'd find out a simple thing like how to hold a razor.
now this one is scary. the angle is a bit better but the blade is terrifying

Wolfman - 2010, no shaving but an instrument given to commit suicide in one scene.
"Winter In Wartime" A minute or so in the film of a father showing his son how to shave with a straight. Also an excellent movie about a boy's reality check in learning of the Dutch resistance movement and survival during the German occupation of a small town in the Netherlands during WWII. A black and white film and very well done IMO.
I started a new episode of Copper about ten minutes ago. The opening scene saw the main character shaving while talking to his previous night's companion. The razor he was using had what looks like jimps running down the length of the spine.
The opening scene of the gangster flick, "The Untouchables" has Robert DeNiro (as Al Capone) getting a straight shave. He even gets nicked by the nervous barber.
In the new Jersey boys movie Frankie Valli goes to give Christopher Walken’s character a shave in a barber shop, manages to cut him instead.
Love this movie :)

Starz original series "Power" episode #2 has the lead bad guy getting a SR shave. In the close up of the "barber" stropping he flips the razor on the cutting edge. He then uses way too much pressure on the the actual shave. I guess the first would require the second. Sorry no film clip.
there is a newish mini-series I found on netflix called "copper" its set in the five points of New York during the civil war. pretty darn good show!! They have several scenes with straight razors.
I am watching Hell on Wheels on Netfix. Episode 8, Season 3 has Bohannon(protagonist) shaving Durant(weasely bad guy) with a straight. One nick and a some menacing strokes.
Pearl Harbor by Michael Bay has many scenes through out the film that show straights being used. There are several just in the bombing portion of the film.
Starz series "Outlander". Shaving with a particular ornate straight ties the timelines together in this time travel drama.
It'seems been said but plus one for "My Name is Nobody." One of my favorite movies. Also the TV show "Chuck" (nerd becomes super CIA agent) I forget what episode but a bad guy shows one off that he uses to "gain information."
There is a straight shave scene in the new movie 'Blind' where Demi Moore shaves Alec Baldwin. It starts not too horrible, but quickly degrades to 90 degree shave angles, and watching Demi rattle the blade around in a glass bowl to clean lather made me cringe.
Has anybody mentioned Crocodile Dundee yet?
