Chaplin video ,straight razor shave!!!

I got this from our brothers at Badger and blade,it is chaplin straight razor shaving somebody , he uses some kind of paste, then strops,hair hanging tested the blade!!! and then shaved....damn looks charming!!!!

That movie was his first (and only, I believe) talkie. It's a very funny movie, but it's very long (three hours)


EDIT; According to IMDB, it's actually 124 minutes. I seem to remember it being much longer, though

The customer got at least 25 cents' worth out of it! and it's a miracle he didn't bleed to death in the chair!

Great video. I heard him say 10 cents please. In high Manhattan shops, its now $50! Did you notice that he did the HHT after stropping?

He's flipping the razor over on the leading side, which means either the edge is trailing (back-honing?), or he is destroying the edge :) If the edge is trailing, I guess you'd have to know that the strap is abrasive enough to be called a honing strap

"The Great Dictator" - I've seen that movie several times and it always cracks me up - I like specially when he plays the other character - the mad dictator Hinckel.
I absolutely love Chaplin's movies. He's a genius.

He doesnt know anything about honing, hence the stropping motion;) He shouldnt be doing the HHT after honing too;) If he was honing.
