Newbie hopeing to meet up with somebody to learn stropping and honing techniques

I bought a straight from the classifieds; and it was honed before it got to me.
I'm certain I didn't do a very good job stropping seeing as it pulled my hair; not a whole lot, but enough to make it not very comfortable. Anyways I was hoping somebody that lives within a few hours might be able to show me a thing ar two at your conveniencet.

I live in both Northern and Southern California, and drive back and forth about 10 times a year.
Northern CA
Butte County just north of Sacramento
Southern CA
Orange County; Newport beach area.

I'll be in Northern California until late November; so I'm really hoping somebody up north can help me.

I really don't mind long drives. So if your a few hours away don't worry about it

Also if there was somewhere else I should have posted this please let me know.
