I think he put an extra zero by mistake, 10.07 would've been more consistent with the current minimum bid....

I've put extra zeroes by mistake myself - once I was quite puzzled when I got email saying I won a razor for $X which was more than I thought I put in the sniper. When I reexamined my bid it turned out I had some extra zeroes. It wasn't too bad though - the other guys had been sensible and even though I paid 30% more than I wanted it saved me a lot of time on future bids on this model. It was in a very nice condition too, so I was not really unhappy.

Some people, me included become very competitive when it comes to Ebay, causing you to be foolish and spend more on an item that you know isn't worth. You just don't want the other guy to get it. I know how you feel. You do feel sick after. I've been there and done that.

in the light of day i still feel sick, suppose my EBAY competativeness took over and i got cut, pardon the pun. But as the evening wore on i became the owner of 8 more razors and got 42 on the cards for the next week..:w
I told the wife i had fun getting more razors but not the courage to tell her one of them was over £100.

You've just got to put it behind you. There's no point dwelling as you can do nothing about it. Take solace from the fact that you created a very entertaining thread & were able to take the stick you got with good humour!

Hold on a minute. You didn't say it was a bidding war or anything. Did you just sort of throw a 200 bet out there for a kick? a little thrill? thinking that the bidding was pretty much doine and you already had it won anyway? but the thrill was that infinitesimal chance that you actually had 200 at risk out there? If that's the case then there wouldn't have been any thrill if there was zero chance of your money being at risk right? It would be like playing Russian roulette with a completely empty gun.

On the bright side, *somebody* thought it was worth 100 and you only paid 2 over that :)

If you but a whole bunch of low priced razors you can average out the price until the price of the one mentioned here is acceptable. ;)

Just as i thought, have have quite a few razors that i have not paid a lot for so in reality by the time i add up all i have spent then it makes it feel better...I have just received the item this morning and is in very good condition,even the box is in mint condition.
