Thanks for the videos. They were very helpful. And I understood your English perfectly. Some guys speak so quickly that I'm forced to rewind to hear what I missed. I didn't have to rewind your videos once. Of course, I'll be coming back to watch these again to study my honing. Thanks again.
Good video. You have quite the set of hones there! Thanks for posting it!
Thanks Sham ! You speak better then I do. Very instructive video. Thanks for going to the trouble. :tu
Just testing something...

I really appreciate these videos. Thanks!
Sham,
Thank you for these great resources! I'll watch them several times before I start honing. Your English (as everyone has already said) is just fine. It's better and more understandable than many folks that were born in English speaking countries.
Cheers,
Tom
Thank you so much! Confirms and improves a lot of what I'm doing.
Great to watch and to listen to! :)
What is the microscope you were using there?
Great vid! Thanks for sharing. Man, you're a hone junkie, huh? :D
Jordan
Very well done vids! Thanks for taking the time to put them together. You should not feel the need to apologize for anything, especially the quality of a second or third language. I always appreciate your input to our straight razor quest for perfection! :nj
Thanks for the vids, and i could understand every word clearly. I have one question,
Would you explain what you are looking for thru the microscope at the different stages of the honing? Or are there other posts & videos on this sight that give that information?
Excellent videos...thanks for taking the time to show us your honing.
Thanks Sham. There's nothing wrong with your English. Great video's too. There's plenty there that's made me think about the way i hone & I think i'll be seeing a real improvement now! Cheers.
Excellent questions.
i will make by hand pictures on my next vid and show exactly what i was looking for every single time when i change grit of the stones.
MIcroscope i bought from radioshack it has 60-100x magnification and focus. i did focused before i start making vid because it takes a little time.
i made mistake and it was my first time. usb camera records and doesn't have pause bottom . video was 34 minutes that exact time took me make razor shave ready. then i couldn't post it anywhere. Next vid i will make 5 min long and i can post in here right away.
thank You guys i will a lot better about my language barrier appreciate.
you may do so i think.just find right bulb.
Thank you, Sham.
I am a bit jealous of all your Eschers. Try that 16K Shapton. I think you will like it. I use it just before my finial finisher, my Nakayama.
* You have a very interesting "stroke" - What's important about it is that your up and your back stroke is very identical to each other. very important!
:tu Good job, Sham!
Steve
Great vids Sham!
It will definitely improve my hoing stroke. I currently use two hands for honing.. one holding the scale end and one keeping the spine on the hone (with just one or two fingers..lightly steering the razor)
Unfortunately all my razors seem shave ready at this moment.. I just honed 3 razors yesterday..
Thanks!
Maarten
Great videos. The explanation is very thorough. These are very helpful to a curious mind without any real experience honing.
Well done and informative videos. Thank you so much for making and sharing with us all. I'm sure you helped out a LOT of people. :tu
P.s. You have an impressive collection of stones!! I'm only a little bit jealous....:w
These are up there with the best honing videos I have seen so far! Thanks a lot for posting them. I know you wanted to show off your hones during the video and you said you don't like belgians, right? What is your progression of stones after the DMT1200? Also where do you start for your touch up honing?
after 1200 i use 4k/then 8k side now you ready.
touch ups the best option is barber hones my personal opinions.
i think i used 1 barber hone in videos.
what you see on video is less then half hones i have .i wanted use as much as hones i can but problem was time and i have never done this before. it was recording on HD and it took me 2 days find out how to split them .i got help from member to split them.
my mistake was i honed not to close to usb camera l realize late and try to stretch out my hand. Again it is first time and i learned from it.next time i won't do that type mistakes.
These truly are wonderful. Thanks again!
