Thanked: 328Pure Bulgarian Rose Otto Shaving Soap Group Buy?
Hey guys,
I'm gauging interest on a group buy for Pure Bulgarian Rose Otto Shaving Soap from SRD. This stuff has never been made before as far as I know.. It'll be a super strong scent..
Pricing will be $35-$40 for the group buy.. Retail would be $55+..

Thanked: 346what type of soap? I'm not familiar with the SRD soaps. Are they traditional fat/lye triple milled soaps, or glycerine soaps?

Thanked: 953Would it be a pure rose EO soap, or would FOs be used? If EO I'm very interested.
I tried to run a buy for QED on rose EO [as opposed to the FO Wild Rose he'd done before] and got tons of interest, but it broke down on price when it crashed over the $60 threshold, but interest held up to about $50).

Thanked: 328This will be pure Essential Oil.. The good stuff
Help me spread the word around, here and other forums.. Anyone is welcome to join in on this! I'll be gauging interest here.. If 15 people commit, then SRD has agreed to put it into production.. Price is $35-$40 as of right now.

Thanked: 953Count me in for one.
I'll post this on SMF. That's a bargain! Retail it would indeed be over $65 based on my experience with Charles, who tried hard to keep it down. I ran this idea on B&B a year plus ago and had some 50 people in before the estimated price ran over the $50 cap I imposed, but people were panic posting for updates, so this should be a big winner, and 15 commits is nothing.

Thanked: 953I just posted on Shavemyface.com. Alas, I may not post it on B&B as I have been banned for life over there!
But someone else should feel free to carry that torch [although you might want to check if you'll get banned for doing it first].
This is a very exciting idea. I'm glad you guys are doing it.

Thanked: 171This may sound silly, but what would it smell like? Is it significantly different than the Rose FO products? If so, how? My only experience with rose scents for shaving is GFT coral skin food, GFT rose shave cream, and Mama bear's roses shave soap. I really like the MB roses soap, FWIW.

Thanked: 953I defer to those putting it together obviously, but my guess is if you go into an Art of Shaving store, and squirt the pure Rose Hydrosol right under your nose, and multiply it times two, it will be like that.
The AOS rose cream is bulgarian rose, but the smell is far meeker and less concentrated than it would be in a glycerine soap.
I think it's very different than your typical synthetic rose scent, particularly GFT, which is not at all a single note rose scent.
It should be really nice.
