Okay - it'll be my first leg shave with a straight - I have allowed a bit o'stubble, and have all the equipment ready. Advice? Encouragement? Congratulations and party invitations? Etc?

Elliette, you'll do fine. Take your time.
Have fun!!!
Dont worry, dont get the jitters, just do what you know you have to do and it will be alright.
Remember to breathe too dear!:D
I was sort of dreading as well as looking forward to my first shave, there may be blood or there may not. I'm just clumsy to start with.:gaah::rofl2:
Seriously you will be fine and of course we're looking forward to reading your shave diary thread (hint, hint), photo's optional (secret cave if you don't want to go public).;)
Good luck, relax and enjoy!
Good luck! You will do just fine!

The agony (or, rather, owie), and the shiny, shiny ecstasy!
If I had tried my legs with a straight I have a distinct feeling I would have peeled my shin like a banana...
Looks like you're off to a great start! Congrats!
Looks good! Spideyman band aids fix everything! Not too bad for a first go at it, it will only get better from here, congratulations on a job well done.
One nick (shown), one cut (covered - it's just a line of ow, really) and the rest is all good. I had a little trouble angling at the back of the ankle, and, obviously, the knee (which I have had all my life) surprised me, but all in all pretty good. It was also surprisingly quick. Next time I'll do both legs. I did the right the "regular" way, and the left with the SR. The left feels a lot smoother - I missed fewer spots, and am overall more pleased with the results. It seems more "complete" even compared to where the other razor (Venus) did get.
Now I shall conduct a "which grows out faster" contest, with both entrants winning a fresh shave.
