The art of shaving?

On a recent road trip to Denver Colorado to see a Soccer match my friend and I became subjected to a trip to the mall because of our wives. Upon then trying to find something to entertain my mind to the point in which I wasn't forced to hang myself in Neiman Marcus, I stumbled upon a little store called the art of shaving, friendly staff and a "sharp" looking store instantly peaked my interest (thank God). Not knowing there was actually a niche for this sort of thing I bought some stuff right there, and I am wondering if any of you have had experience with any of their products, above all I am curious as to how well my brush may hold up. I love everything in the set that I bought The Art of Shaving just wondering about the possible longevity of the included brush.

There are many threads on AOS. If you do a search, you'll find them. Check the reviews also.

I think they carry quality products. I particularly like their shaving soaps. I have one of their "Fine" brushes and I've used their little travel brush as well. They're pretty good - a little overpriced perhaps, but should last a long time if properly cared for.

Take everything the staff at AOS tells you with a big grain of salt. The vast majority of them do not really know what they're talking about and some of them will tell you whatever it takes to make a sale. That's been my experience, anyway. Enjoy.

Welcome to straight shaving and I am sooo glad you bought a dovo and not the overpriced dull blades they sell at AOS. Most people on this site know how I feel about AOS, (I personally despise them). I do agree with you in the fact that the stores are clean, sharp looking and they make you feel very welcome. However, most, not all, but most of the sales staff there do not shave with straights and do not know what they are talking about. I have heard good things about their soaps and creams but why pay that much money for that stuff when you can buy some Proraso, classic shaving, or Colleens soaps/creams for 1/3 the price and have a better quality soap. The kit you bought should be fine and the brush should last a long time if you take care of it. Enjoy your dovo and have fun with this stuff!

Great creams (expensive but you use very little), expensive brushes, terrific straights (TI's).
