Telly, I was able to pop in and ask about the razor. It seems that he sold the one he had in stock but can order others if asked to do so.
I asked what the price was and he said he would have to check but it was around 45,000 yen.
I am not sure if the craftsman has raised prices or what though.
The name of the store is 'World Knife Shop, Ginza Kikufuji' 「ワールドナイフショップ銀座菊藤」 www.kikufuji.com . It mainly has kitchen and pocket knives for sale.

Very practical people. Form follows function to the nth degree. I have always liked the looks of these razors, and the oft repeated photo is a prime example. Nothing gone to waste.
The focus is in and on the steel, not distracting fancy scales, basic simplicity and very zen. Also very expensive.
And how fortunate we are to have friends in far places.
I'm sure you guys are dying to get your hands on these. So I took the liberty of PMing Seth. Hopefully the shop still carries them.
I would love to have an opportunity to have a blade like that one.
Hi:
I am completely new to this forum, so I hope I am not repeating. I just purchased a razor like this one from Takeshi at Aframestokyo.com. I had already bought a knife from him (custom Yanagiba) with excellent results. If he delivers to where I live (Iquique, Chile) he can pretty much ship anywhere.
According to his website, he should have a couple in stock, for about $730 US
Would you recommend a Japanese razor for a first time user?
Hi RoKenn, and welcome to SRP. This is an old thread, but yes Japanese razors are well regarded here as great shavers. Of course you have to consider if it comes shave ready, etc.
Thanks for the quick reply! I've always had the highest respect for the way the Japanese handle making swords, knives etc. I have found a few for sale on eBay and I am looking to acquire my first straight razor. I just wanted to know if the Japanese razors were a good idea for a first time user.
