How do members travel with their straight razors?
Do you bring your strop and multiple razors, brushes, balms/lotions, etc.? Let's see how those that travel pack their shave case for both weekend jaunts or week-long (or longer) trips. Thanks,
Jeff

I went on a trip to Ottawa last month and took exactly what I use with one exception. I ordered a paddle strop from Tony which does a very nice job. It should be mentioned though that I don't use a brush and soapcake, so that sure makes it easier. I also took a pocket paddle with 0.5 micron paste which I never needed to use.

Hi,
I use my regular brush (travel brush in for Xmas :) ), usual soap in screw-top can and a Dovo paste/leather strop combo on wood, which is small but works astonishingly well (quite similar to Tonys travelling strop). Oh, and as a backup I usually take my trusty DE with me as well.

This summer I went to Deleware and I took 2 razors, my strop, soap, brush and aftershave. It all worked. If I traveled more I would get a travel paddle strop from Tony Miller. It looks great.;)
X-man, I'm hurt. You didn't even drop in for a visit so we could talk razors. :(
I take a disposable striaght with me. Although I like the idea of the paddle strop. I'll have to try one of those next :D
I take a couple of str8s and keep them in those Dovo single leather cases that Ray sells at classicshaving.com. I carry a tube of cream such as Taylors, and a Vulfix turnback brush. I use the hotel towels and one of the rocks glasses near the bar or coffee maker to whip up a lather. Paddle strop and a small stone, just in case, but usually the strop is enough. I'll try and get some pictures of my wetpack loaded up soon .........Jeff
What else could you put a brush in other than buying one of those special travel brushes? I'm going to be travelling for a few weeks in Dec thru Jan.
If you search Ebay, you can find some old travel kits that are pretty cool. I bought a travel kit with a hinged mirror, a bowl and a small brush. Pretty slick. Anyway, I have also seen some nice kits that are made for DE stuff, but have cool little compartments and containers for shaving brushes, cream, talc and alum.
I've heard toilet paper tubes work well, or maybe a large prescription type pill bottle with a few holes punched for ventilation ......................Jeff
