I visited an antique store in Leesburg VA, yesterday. I asked if they had any straight razors which of course they just looked at me funny. I walked through the store for a while and didn't find any. Then the sales lady and I stumbled on a 7 day set...wow. Like an idiot I forgot the name, some American brand. Maybe early 1900s. Anyway I noticed the blades did not seem to be steel, but some other very thin light grayish color metal. Bakelite handles too I think, each razor only weighing a few ounces. Any idea what kind of metal it could be? I thought they were only made from steel. Pretty set, in fair condition. They wanted $245 and Saturday was chipped. I think I can talk them down some in case anyone is interested. I'll check back soon and see what the price is and the brand name if I get any replys. But I'm curious about anyones knowledge of razors made from metals other than steel.
