Okay, I've got three or four razors sitting in bleach at the moment. How long am I supposed to leave them in there?

Bleach isn't known to 100% effectively kill aids if that's what you're worried about. though some places make that claim.Quote:

1) 10 minutes in a peroxide alcohol (50/50) mixture has always killed aids and most other pathogens of grave concern according to released studies I've read.
2) a simple, non chemical way to kill EVERY pathogen if you don't have chemicals, again according to studies read:
a. get a cup of hot water and a cup of ice water. the hot water shouldn't need to exceed standard tap heats but freshly boiled if you're concerned
b. dunk in hot for 5 seconds, then in cold for 5 seconds, completely submerging blade and areas of concern each dunk. Repeat numerous times. (at least 10 full rounds, the more the better).
c. completely dry dunked item and let set for at least 20 minutes.
The idea behind the dunking method is that the extremely fast temperature changes are such a shock to pathogens that they cannot survive. SO common sense would say dunk, hold 5 seconds, switch fast, hold 5, switch fast, repeat repeatedyly ;)
Some info I've read on the Aids Virus (again only for info purposes):
-Aids cannot live long outside the body.
-10 minutes before use is the safety margin recommended when cleaning and using a public toilet that MAY have dried blood deposits
-Aids cannot be transmitted via spit or insects (drinking from your friend's gf's cousin's lover's glass wont infect you unless s/he bled into it)
The reason is the strop. You can always pop razors into Barbicide, but what do you do about the strop?Quote:

That would be the least of your concerns. THe AIDS virus dies very quickly when exposed to the air.Quote:

Yeah, I hope so, Doc.
As I mentioned, the blade wasn't tarnished at all when I got it; but I still scrubbed it with soap and water using a tooth brush. It was then wiped clean with a cloth. After that, I submerged the blade in boiling water for thirty seconds to a minute and then wiped it again.
Oh, and after hearing about the bleaching method people here seem to rely on, I soaked the blade in Javex for five or six minutes.
I sure hope you intend to be a real doctor and not just another legalized drug dealer with a prescription pad like all the frigging idiots I've been to lately are. ;)Quote:
