broken hand
I broke my hand last week and am in a cast. Tried using my straight but just did not work, so I broke down and used a Gillette Mach 3 for the first time in 4 years. I hate those razors, but I have to say it was very fast and gave me an extremely smooth shave with no effort. It has no soul, though! 3 more weeks in this cast, am counting the days....

Sorry to hear about your broken hand.
Hurry up and get well!

Sorry to hear about your hand. Now with this set back, you will again find an appreciation for the straight. Boy we miss that shave when we do without for a while. Get better soon.
-
Sorry to hear about your hand; hope it heals without problems, and soon!
A Mach 3 shaves fairly well the first time I use it, by the end of the first shave my wiry coarse beard has degraded the edge, and subsequent shaves get worse and worse. I used to think that Mach 3's were expensive because I used so many, until I developed RAD!

Well you need to turn lemons into lemonade. This is the excuse you need to get yourself a good DE.
-
+1 on the get well soon and on getting the DE. I'll bet your shave with the mach thing was as good because of some of the technique you've developed straight razor shaving. Anyway .... sorry to hear about your hand, I know what a bummer it can be. I slept in a chair for three months because of a broken collar bone a few years ago.

Yep, get a DE! :D They're great, and the blades are waaay cheaper than M3 blades.
Get well soon! :)

When I busted up my hand last year, I COULD use a straight, but it was painful, awkward, slow and not terribly good. I took the DE back out, and it was WAY better than going back to the cartidges.
Heal up fast! Your straights miss you!

+1 to the DE idea :)
They are much better than the multi's, and a lot cheaper too ;)
You can even strop them back to life a bit :)

So what or who did you punch?
This is a great excuse to buy more razors. Get yourself a selection of DEs, learn which one you like the most and then you can sell the ones you don't like.
