Some Rookie Advice, If You Don't Mind

Firestart--I was thinking about that myself but I had a little trouble knowing which ones listed are good and which ones are duds. It can be hard to tell with some of them, lousy pics and all...I'll keep looking around and come back here for some advice when I see one that I think looks good. Thanks for the heads up..

By the way, what kind of razor did you pick up on auction? *Cheers* to good shaves! Hope you enjoy it....

I'm thinking of mounting it on a brand new DOVO handle (eventually) but I want to make sure the blade shaves well and consult with the folks on the restoration forum before doing it.

I'm a bit worried about the "dents" that the seller mentioned, but since they aren't detectable on the pic, I'm assuming that I'll be able to remove'em with some vigorous honing. X generously offered for me to come in and learn a few honing tricks from him, so I'm looking forward to next Saturday. For that he has my gratitude :)

My first "accidental" purchase on eBay was a Taylor's and an Elephantine something or other....

Needless to say, the Taylor has been my best and favorite shaver since I've gotten it. When I come across one that isn't honed quite well enough (by my own menial capability), I finish up the job with my trusty Taylor. I'd say you'll enjoy it quite a bit, and if you don't, I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands! :D

Ofcourse.. I'll pay you to take it off my hands. I'll even pay for shipping. ;)
Actually I'm looking forward to getting it. The guy shipped it this morning. Can't wait to start shaving with it. Also planning on bidding on a W&B piece. I'd keep the better shaver and make the other one a b-day gift for a buddy. Nenad was right. I AM getting addicted lol. Here's my next planned purchase:

That W&B looks like a real beaut. Don't be surprised if the price ramps up closer to the end of the auction. Decide what you're willing to pay for it now and snipe in for that much within the last minute.

I already have an idea on that W&B, and all I do is snipe, since it keeps my competitive spirit and costs down. However, I think we'll have to move it up or down, since next Saturday is my mom's b-day so I'll have to take her out for a few drinks to celebrate. I'll pm you with my availability and I hope we'll work something out.

That is a really good razor. I had one and was very happy with it. I ended up giving it to a newbie for his first razor. It is a really nicely balanced too.:) Enjoy
