I really wanted one of these, but do you think this is a bad picture or does that look like oxidation to you near the tang?

Looks like an awesome piece. I didn't see any oxidation, but even if there was, it wasn't much. And so what? It's probably nothing you can't fix, and quickly.
Looks like flash flare to me. A nice piece most likely, and a great shave no doubt. Watch it go over $150!

Looks damned nice to me. Snipe it, JL!
Good luck bro,
Wayne
whats the max bid before I am over paying at the current market rate?
Like I said, I've watched these go for well over $100. I don't think that's what "The Book" might say, but $75 doesn't seem too unlikely to me. If you can grab it for $50 I think you'd be doing well. It's just over a day away and not too high yet so you might stand a chance of getting it for a decent price. GL!

Its not a great picture so you can't see the details but if its in really good shape it could go for $300. If its got some oxidation and scratches on the scales probably about $200.

My advice is to bet an odd amount like $75.38, this has helped me in the past. Also, I'd use a snipe program or wait until there is less than 10 seconds left. That being said, I don't think it will sell for under $120. Good luck!Quote:

Still looking pretty good with only 8 hours to go.
I'll bet some lunatic pays over two-hundred for it in the last seconds of the auction.
Now where did I put that two-hundred dollars?
;) Just kidding. I'm pretty content with the Goldedge I picked up a little while ago (for twenty bucks!)
Don't worry, it'll jump up to some crazy amount in the last 30 seconds. That's usually what happens and that's why I still don't have a Wonderedge.

I agree it will go for way more than $75.00. There are a lot of razors that are almost (very very close to) as good for a whole lot less. The old Henckels Friodur razors are as good and can sometimes be had for a decent price.

Well then my bubble may burst in the last few seconds, but at least I can hope...
You know, the next time you spot a Wonderedge on Ebay, you probably shouldn't bring it to the attention of the many bubble bursters here. :)
That last advice was good. This will end up going for between $150.00 and $300.00. It appears to be a 5/8, which doesn't bring as much as a 6/8, but it should still bring around $220.00. That's the honest market value today. It's only overpriced if no one will pay the price but that's not the case with some of the highly sought after collectibles like the WonderEdge.
Your best bet is to find one that's mismarked or in a lot or better yet, at a flea market, gun or knife show.
Thats ok, as long as Im not outbidded by someone here who read my thread and now knows my max bid lol! But by the sound of it, it doesnt matter much anyway since Im not willing to pay top dollar. It just isnt fun anymore when it gets that serious...Quote:

Poor photographs. (can't see if the little swirls are on the tang or have been cleaned off with the rust.)
No technical description.
Seller has less than stellar feedback.
Seller does not seem to be a razor guy.
Which all means this could wind up being an unnoticed bargin or a high priced disappointment.
It's a spin of the wheel
Good luck,

In fact the second that you mentioned the razor
I ruled it out. Of course I have yet to bid on an ebay
razor. Quite honestly though I love the things, they
aren't worth that much. If you ever see me as a bidder
though - bid away - I will back off and save some money. :)
Best of luck, unless as of this posting you have already
been outbided.

Also after reading some of the predictions, I don't even want her THINKING about paying $220-300 for this razor. Again, my apologies, but I didn't know.

I wouldn't do it to an SRP member, but I wouldn't be surprised if some lurker did it. Bidding went crazy on one WB right after I started talking about it here. On a good note, my TW just arrived, and it's in excellent shape. Virtually no hone wear, and the two dents are BARELY detectable by naked eye. They'll be honed out tonight.

I better run to the store and get some bleach to disinfect it :D
Hey, glad to hear you got that razor, and it is in nice condition... Have fun using it...Quote:

I just wish I could read all the posts on this thing... For some reason, I can always read only on page... Anyway, who won this thing? Is is a member? I saw that 306 people visited the place... This is getting out of hands. Sure glad I don't bid anymore... Lol... But we never know... Claude
this ebay thing is no fun anymore with this sniping crap. Im just going to by my stuff from Bill, screw ebay, I dont want anything THAT bad that it has to turn into a 10 second bidding war.
The Wifey bid this one for me, I found out she was the bidder on this after i got off shift and read JL's post. It actually ended up going for $176.27 (way more than I would have allowed her to pay. I see what you mean about the sniping though, 6 bids all within seconds of the ending til the winner took it up a hundred dollars or so.Quote:

So instead I bid on a TI that I found in the obscurity of France from someone that wouldn't even take paypal or a money transfer. I ended up getting it for 2 euro's....now THAT is a good ebay deal. (Although it might need some work when it arrives.)
That is what ebays is about to me, it is an online yard sale, and if I didnt walk away with a treasure for pennies on the dollar I just feel guilty about it for some reason.Quote:

stuff happens, it doesnt mattere anyway, I wouldnt have paid more than $75.00 for it, I didnt like it THAT much.Quote:

Real auctions don't stop on a dime but go on until there are no more bids. Snipping is an economically efficient solution to the artificial auction end time on e-bay. Like all other human systems this one too is evolving in an economically efficient fashion.
