E-bay Razor from 1873!
I refer to E-Bay auction # 6620638918
The seller says the razor dates from 1873. The Manufactory (sic) is unknown. The scales are of celluloid. The blade is of a shoulderless grind and appears electro etched and plated.
Clearly this razor of 1873 was ahead of its time.
What'll it sell for?

I think you posted the wrong auction #. It reads "scrimshaw".
-
Nope, that's the right auction. The seller says it's scrimshaw celluliod from 1873...
-
No way that blade was ground in 1873! To the best of my knowledge they did not even invent celluloid that early.
-
Celluloid turned up in the late 1920's. I hope this helps.
Scrimshaw would be whales teeth.

Celluloid got here in 1848 and became commercialized in 1872 or there abouts. But I agree with Randy about the blade. No way is it that old. I think... I say, I think that it was 19...73 and it was shanded by any one of the multitude of artist type folks who do that kind of work.
