I have been watching a lot of old westerns, the Rifleman, Wanted Dead or Alive, Rawhide, Wagon Train, etc. Lots of scenes with straights. Always catches my attention when they come on.
In the uncut version of "Das Boot", at 1.10:00, the 1st Watch Officer is seen to be taking care and paying close attention to his DE whilst shaving... whilst his crewmates are wanting to use the very same (and sole useable) bathroom on the submarine.
The book The Razor's Edge by Somerset Maugham.
I've read that book and seen the movie. No actual razors, just a metaphor.
SWMBO and I have been watching our way through the series "Fringe". In season 3, ep. 7, it starts out with a character dubbed "The Candyman" who is shaving with a straight (though I can't remember if it was just his head or head and face).
Star Trek: Insurrection. Counselor Troi is giving Riker a straight razor shave in a bubble bath.
Lawless. Well, the two scenes where the straight razor is shown, no one is actually shaving with it.
Casualties of War. Sean Penn is straight razor shaving in his tent.
Referencing my post #168, after seeing the movie on YouTube I bought the DVD and it came in today. Look at the main menu picture and the icon that denotes the selection:
