Well, I finally got my razors back from Ross Cutlery. I gotta say, I was a bit disappointed. They're all nice, but I honestly expected the hone wear to be gone. It's reduced, but not gone. All the razors look good, and have been returned to "really good shaver" status. I guess the point is, don't expect miracles. Maybe I'll like 'em better when I've custom scaled them. The Filarmonica I got from Ross is, however, extremely pimp. :D
P.S. The do need to be honed afterwards.

Just a couple of questions
1. Was the pitting the same as before?
2. Reduced ?
3. Entirely eliminated?
4. Was the edge defect free or the same as before?
Randy, the pitting was all removed on the blades themselves. There remains a small bit on the shank, but that doesn't bother me at all, and I can probably get it off myself, as I asked him to leave the shanks (and their attendant makers' marks) alone. The edges appear to be fine. I had removed any edge defects before I ever sent them. That being said, the more I look at them, the better I like them. I was honestly pissed when I first opened them up, but I guess my position has softened a bit. Considering what they looked like when I sent them, I guess they're ok after all. In the future, though, I'll just buy razors that don't need so much work. :D
