Pressed Horn, Other

I haven't really paid much attention to this when I browse through new razors but I'm curious if any current razor manufacturers or custom 'razorsmiths' use pressed horn? I'm thinking of something similar to the old Wostys with "the original pipe razor" pressed into the scales. I love the look and I wonder why no one does this anymore. (they might, I just haven't noticed it)

Also, on a related note it seems like the creativity is way down in new razors as far as commemorative designs and special etchings. Much of what I see is gold wash that fades over time although there are SOME in this department. I assume in some part it is because of much lower demand these days but I think it would go over well if Dovo of TI would do a little more of this.

Any thoughts?

I did see the new Dovo and yes it looks amazing, I actually considered buying it but I just don't have the extra cash right now. I just think the extra step would be nice, a worked spine is awesome to look at but TI and Dovo, as you said, have some razors like this already.

I'm looking for the features that you only see in vintage razors. I'd like to see more inlays, bolsters, interesting etchings, pressed horn, etc. The things that catch everyone's eye in vintage blades to be short.

Again, just one man's opinion, I thought maybe someone would know why this is seen much less in the new age - I personally just think it boils down to lower demand so less variety

You're probably right. With the lower demand, there is less of a market and with a smaller market it's harder to market and sell expensive "one-off's". Not as many people are there to buy them, so you tend to not make nearly as much money making them, if you make any at all. It's understandable, to me at least. Still unfortunate, but definitely understandable.

Although...I just happened upon the Revisor website today. Holy crap! They have a TON of really awesome stuff up there, and after calculating prices, they seem VERY reasonably priced. Definitely check them out:

Ok I agree now, those things are amazing. If they ship to the US a Revisor will definitely be my next new razor purchase. That is assuming they have good reviews.
