My wife built me an antique style wash stand. The base is from an ancient sewing machine, so it's sturdy wrought iron. It looks quite nice. Wooden top with a hole cut in for the metal wash basin. Towel rack on the back, with hand stitched barber poles on each towel. Barber pole up the middle of the back with an extending mirror mounted to it. The base still has the three drawers from the sewing machine setup, so storage is easy. The great thing about it is that I can set it up in the living room if I want to. Just add hot water and you're ready to go. Now all I have to do is clean up my barber chair so I can sit while I shave.
