How Many Shaving Related Items Do You Purchase A Month?

Since getting into wet shaving I have definitely been bitten by the RAD bug. Lately I have been buying something atleast once a week, whether its a razor or soap or strop or whatever. Most of the people around me can't understand why I buy so much stuff. They just don't get it! I know you guys can relate! Although I am a college student and don't make alot of money, so I really should watch how much I am spending, so I try to be a little more responsible.


My question is: How many shaving items do you purchase a month?

I know I am at atleast 4.

I usually stock up from time to time. Once I make a purchase I might not buy again for many months and some things like soap for instance I can go a year or more without buying.

Ditto, I went thorough most of the ADs early on and don't need much of anything. Once in awhile if I see something I just want I'll go for it. I have what I need if I didn't buy anything else for years. :)

I've been pretty good lately...down to one purchase a day. Making progress :)

After doing this for a while now, my acquisitions have slowed down, now I seem to have too much (and not enough!) stuff. But I still keep my eyes open for anything interesting, or that I don't have, I'm just not actively searching anymore.

I would have to agree with what everyone said. During the first few months of using SR I made allot of purchases soap, cream, strop, brushes, AS, hones, and the list just goes and goes. Now if something really catches my eye on the EBay or the classifieds I am sure I will jump on it. I’m just running out of space to put it all. 23 razors 7 cream/soaps 4 strops 5 hones 3 brushes. I need to get a storage unit just to hide all the stuff from the wife. Oh btw I want to try getting a DE now lol

I picked up a Merkur Futur to give it a try, Works great for me at a setting of 1-1.5 but in the end I preferred my Str8's. Gave the Merkur to the SWMBO and she loves it with some Mama Bear rose soap :) Slowly getting her hooked!

Doing my best to keep the US Postal Service alive and well!

Some months there are packages at my door daily...then there will be 3 months in a row with nothing. It all depends on how much stuff I have donated to friends to get them hooked :)

Yea, I agree with what a few folks said. When I first started this hobby I wanted to buy anything and everything I thought I "needed". Although now, I do see myself slowing down. A light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. ;) Inasmuch, I also am an avid bass player so my shaving acquisitions are cutting into my "super-nice boutique bass" fund. It is hard to balance more than one hobby. It is probably most hard on my bank account. lol.

I keep thinking I'm going to slow down on shave purchases, but so far I've been going like crazy since Christmas. Oh, well, at least I'm doing my part to support the economy. :)

I haven't purchased any shaving related items in months, maybe longer. My shaving hasn't suffered though - weird

Once I figured out what products I like and which I didn't.....I hardly buy anything. Went on a spending spree on a a visit to London couple of years back. After that I was just fine untill I ran out of skinfood.....bough the biggest bottle after that and I'll be fine for a while. Still have one of the soaps from Trumpers that I use on a regular basis.

I think it's like a curve type thing. You go through a lot of money trying to figure out what you like...and once you know the curve flattens and you hardly spend anything.

I know that all in I've spent less money over the past 5 or so years than I would've on razorblades.

How about an option for 'less than one'?
Seriously. I have what I need. I haven't bought a razor in quite a while, I haven't bought a hone in years, I buy no paraphernalia.
The last thing I bought may well be the Thater brush I got from Robin, in august last year.
