After seeing this where the normal DE were I began to look around and sure enough all gillette blades were gone. The DE got moved to where the fusion blades were. It made me chuckle and made some of the store workers curious that I took a picture of this. I had to explain that I shave with a blade I sharpen...
That is great. We need more stores to do that
Ask the manager of the store if you can put a locked case of straight razors for sale on the front end. Stop the real theft.
The Mach3 and Fusion heads have been under lock and key in GA, IL, and NC for the last 8 years at least around here. NOT carrying them doesn't really seem the best solution, but hey, it ain't MY business.
Some stores here in TN and KY keep them locked up as well. Who would have ever thought that something like razor blades would have to be so secure lol
I can't imagine wanting to use a Fusion so badly that I would take up shoplifting. That is someone truly misinformed/uninformed. :thinking:

The expensive carts are locked up or behind the counter at many shops here too. The irony is that this store considers a $2.50 5 pack of DE blades "expensive", yet a 4 pack of Fusion blades is upwards of $16. Crazy!
most smaller places around here have them locked up also ... only place i didnt notice that ive been in that they didnt have them locked up was walmart ...

I should give up trying to understand things. We have a uniform service at my work. The lockers with the clean uniforms are open to anyone. But the dirty hamper is locked??? Now if you were going to steal a uniform which one would you choose?;)
I've noticed blades locked up around here as well. But what I found really odd was the last time I bought a styptic pencil, it too was locked up? I have a hard time believing people were shoplifting them, none of the employees I talked even knew what the heck they were.

A little off topic, but I read somewhere that there is a huge black market trade in counterfeit cartridges. As I recall, the article stated that up to 80% of the cartridges sold on the internet are fake. I have no idea if this indeed true, but all of the stores putting these behind lock and key would indicate a least an interest to counterfeiters.
in the 1970's, I worked as an auditor for the US military, and we got assigned to do a special review of the local Army Commissary (grocery store). At that time, they priced based on a non- or minimal profit per item (less than 1 cent/item), and we found their major loss was of small items like cartridges (Trac 2 was the state-of-the art then), and so a loss of a few packages could force the Commissary WAY into the red ink. Of course, we also discovered that people were shoplifting things like frozen turkeys, by holding them between their thighs under their skirts or raincoats while they paid for other items at checkout. If you're willing to freeze your privates to steal a turkey, what won't you steal?
