Really fine day for some good eats, fine smokes, sweet eye candy, and exposure to a wealth of experience in the straight razor art from some really classy guys,, and Colin..
Just kidding.
Mike, again, thanks for hosting, and I too want to say thanks for the use of the rocks, and the good conversation all.
Phil and Jane, very nice to meet as well. Expect my orders on your site, and maybe a call looking for one of your not yet posted blades,:-)
Have an awesome wedding Rick, and thanks for the pointers all..

Cheers!
It was an awesome day, indeed!
Thank you very much for having us, Mike. I had a great time with the bunch.
Was a true pleasure to meet all the guys, and enjoy some fun company.
Ya guys, it was great to meet all of you. I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday, than sitting around honing and trading stories and info with a bunch of good guys! Thanks Mike for hosting, and thanks Phil and Jane for the swag!!! Can't wait for the next one. :)
Hi Everyone!
Just want to say thank you to Mike for hosting this event. We had a wonderful time! It was an absolute pleasure to meet each and every one of you. And we got a real kick out of some of the beautiful vintage blades. Its great to see everyone learning from each other and I envy all of the new honers as the journey to learning to hone a straight razor is so much fun. So many techniques, so many straight razors, so little time. By the way, Andrew, I can't get over how beautiful your badger brushes are!

So how was the shave with those awesomely honed razors?
Does it look like your now in the market for a new hone?
Best shave ever yesterday morning with my Boker! First time ATG and was very safe feeling. I am totally on the hunt for new rocks now. Am trying to get to lee valley for a norton 4000/8000 this week! And as far as a finisher,, am looking for one of those as well. Anyone with too many stones? I am lookin. :-)
Thanks for the help on the weekend all.
Colin, I loved that green blade of yours a lot. Think it to pretty for you. Wink.
@colin: no word of a lie, I brought the razor up for the first pass and BAM! My side burn fell off! No really I miss judged, went to high and the while damn burn came off in one piece. I'm now in the market.
Some thoughts from you boys. If I'm looking for consistent results would I be better off with the Naniwa 12K (or the Shaptons)as a first purchase and then start playing with the naturals (Thuringian, Charnley Forest)?
Nah I finishing stone, I had a spare sideburn on the other side of my face so it was all good.
