    Default First SR Head Shave

Well, today I stropped my 13/16 Wade and Butcher near wedge and took to my lathered-up head with it. First time I've shaved my head with anything aside from electric clippers.
It took me a while (especially the back and neck), but I managed not to nick myself and missed only a few small spots on reviewing my handy work. I kept it to a single pass with touch-ups with a bit of irritation afterwards on the back of my neck where I had to re-do a few patches and probably used too much pressure (I was going blind, by feel, having neither the patience nor bathroom space to set up any double-mirror shenanigans).

I don't think I'll make it an every day affair, but I can definitely see myself SR shaving my head on a weekly basis.

I chose my W+B wedge as it's by far my most forgiving razor. It's smooth and keen when coming off my coticule, but it rarely bites me and doesn't leave me raw and sore. It could become my head razor, me thinks.

I'm not 30 yet, but if I keep losing my hair I may need to start shaving. I'm not sure about using a SR for it though.

It’s definitely something that takes practice and patience. I’ve done it for a while now regularly. My suggestion is find a blade you are very comfortable with and stick with it solely until you get comfortable. It is no different than shaving your face after a while. Just work on that muscle memory. Last tip is stay with some type of round point. It’s very easy to get bit behind the ears with others. Congrats on giving it a go successfully.

    Default Shave Number 2

Had another go tonight. Was getting a bit of length in my remaining hair (1/8" or so :P), so thought I'd attack my head with the W+B again. It really is a bit like combing the hair off my head after a while. I paid more attention to the grain and keeping my passes close together and consistent. I've found my hair comes in diagonally towards the middle on both sides at the back of my head and I think ploughing straight down through it was the reason I got irritated so much the first time.

This time I did two passes with touch-ups and ended up a little bit sore, but it was a smoother affair all round than last time.

I like the idea of sticking with this razor only for my head, RollinCoal69, and yes, I did take my time with it.
Behind the ears is a bugger. I flipped the razor and shaved with the opposite hand this time to get at these hard-to-reach spots.

    Thanks for the encouragement, guys.

I shaved my head for the first time period a couple days ago with an electric trimmer. I'm 28 with thinning/receding hair so I thought I would see how it looked. Wife liked it but I'm split because I want to grow my beard back. I've kept a trimmed beard for several years except for the occasional clean shave and regrow.
Asked my wife to shave my head with my SR but she was afraid she would cut me.

Been doing it for many years.
Nothing like it, makes the dome super-smooth and it actually takes me less time than with say a DE or a disposable.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....
