JNAT: Nakayama Asagi Tomae
This is an etremely nice Nakayama Asagi Tomae that I purchased from Keith Johnson a year ago. It's a good sized stone (approx. 205mm x 80mm x 23mm and weighs 1034g, or 8.07" x 3.15" x 0.91" and 36.5 oz.) that I use as a bench stone atop a folded towel. It's a very hard (LV 5+) and smooth stone that is a superb finisher. If you want a one-stone solution (after bevel setting) you can use this with a full Asano Mikawa Shiro Nagura progression (Botan, Tenjyou, Mejiro, Koma) then finish with tomo nagura and then plain water. There is an area near one end that drops off from the flat surface, this presents no honing issues and will eventually work out with a few lapping sessions. The bottom and sides have been sealed with cashew lacquer. Comes with a matching tomo nagura.
