Gabriel's 2.5" Roo Strop

Once again, I finally managed to catch up with my Roo Strop waitlist and in and make a couple spare in 3" with cotton and one in 2.5" with firehose, this is the second time i can make and post strop here in the B/S/T forum (usually i barely have enough time to meet with my wait list) , up until now the strops have been sold in the community by recommendation from other members. Many folks in the forum have been super kind with me and entered the waitlist even knowing that the wait could be sometimes more than 2 months. The reason i made a couple spare ones is that i'm not sure how soon i'll be able to make more, works is getting interesting, so for the next batch the waiting might be a bit longer.

What you will get is a 100% Costa Rican artisan (me) handmade 2.5" wide veg. tanned authentic Kangaroo leather strop ("stroppable" length is about 19 inch), witch chocolate handles made of heavy veg. tanned cow leather (both great quality leathers). Handles were treated to be comfortable in the hand; metal parts are chromed silver color, very well built. Second stropping component is 100% flax linen vintage firehose (made in 1956, USA) with beautiful red and blue stripes that add elegance and a vintage look to the already nice looking colors selection. This is a very resistant and effective webbing , disinfected, washed and softened for providing an exceptional stropping effect.

Kangaroo leather in this thickness and treatment (and with the right dressing) is a really good option for stropping straight razors, specially curved/smiling blades, this leather is one of the toughest and most resilient you can find and the strop will adapt a bit to the shape of the edge… the drag is really nice, I don’t over dress my strops, but gently prepare them for use with Horse Oil, which enhances the resistance and flexibility without increasing the draw like crazy, for me, honestly it has the right draw.
