I now realize that I need a bevel setter hone, my current setup is Naniwa 3/8k & 12k. What do you guys think about DMT?

I have used a DMT 1200 for awhile but decided I don't like the way diamond plates leave my edges. The Chosera 1k is what I finally settled on but the naniwa superstone 1k was quite good as well. Don't get me wrong, some folks may like the dmt 1200 just fine but it was not my cup of joe.
The dmt is fine but it does leave deep scratches on the bevel that take longer to smooth down with the next stone. I personally like the chosera or the king 1k best. I had thr naniwa 1000 but didnt like the cutting power.
The dmt can eat the spine up too.
Same here. Too many scratches to remove. Chosera 1k is a winner around here. May be just what you need. Doesn't dish, leaves smooth scratch pattern. Its about $30 more. Well worth it IMO.
I use a DMT 1200 for bevel setting and I like it a lot. Like others before have said it can leave some deep scratches but I tape my spines when I use it and try to watch the bevel carefully.
It is a fast cutter. I then use a Norton 4k/8k and polish the blade off with a coticule (a La Dressante). Gives me some really smooth edges.
I guess that a Naniwa it will be, but I'm definitely getting one of those DMT 325's for flattening/cleaning. Btw...any experience with the Norton 1k? Thanks Gents!
