Trouble is it's very black :D
Your going to have to get more images, Including the sides. And how hard it is, and what you raised the slurry with.
The 2 images you have posted could literally be of any black stone.
Any history you can give and where it was posted from might also be helpful.

Slurry was made with a DMT 325.
Here is a picture of the front and the side.
It was sold to me as an unmarked Thurigian.
It measures 5x1
It cuts fairly quick and leaves a very sharp edge. There is an slight indentation on the back of the stone where it may have been glued to the box. Attachment 162942Attachment 162944
Looks like the stone has a strong layering viewed from the side?
Cannot really vote from the pictures but does not really look like a thuringian to me...
To me it looks like it could be a thuringian. It seems fine and has the typical shape of those boxed mini thuringians.
I'm not familiar with black thuringians though.
The pictures do not do much justice unfortunatly. It's more like a very dark blue color. It makes an awesome edge, very sharp and smooth. I checked the edge on the razor I just honed under the microscope and the bevel was clean and even (no burs).
I'm the guy who sold the hone to Joe. It was sold to me as an unmarked Thuringian, so that's what I considered it. I'm only about 8 months into this honing stuff, so I can't confirm otherwise. I do know that it's exactly the same size in all dimensions and colored the same as a boxed Celebrated Water Stone I bought at the same time from a different source, for whatever that corroboration may be worth.
Regardless, I'm glad it's giving you nice edges Joe!
