    Question

Does the tape pick up any fibers and if it does, do you notice any "unevenness" in the tape?

This is not something i would have thought of doing.

The tape can pick up fibers. If they affect the width of the tape, I then remove them because they could cause a problem. I have found that pressing the tape lightly onto the cloth minimizes any fiber being picked up by the tape. Light pressure on the cloth is all that is required. If I do this right, there is very little residual gum left on the blade, and, of course, this can be removed easily with another piece of fresh tape (applied lightly).
